These terms govern your use of zankarstudios.com and any service you buy from us. By using this website or engaging our services, you accept them. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Zankar" mean the sole proprietorship of Satyajeet Dilip Pangu, trading as Zankar Audio Cassettes and Knowledge Magix, and operating publicly as Zankar Studio. Both trade names are registered under the single GSTIN shown above.
What we do
We are an audio and print publishing house established in 1983. We produce audiobooks, ebooks and print books; provide voiceover, dubbing, sound design and e-learning production; hire out our recording and video podcast studio; run workshops and courses; and from time to time organise writing contests.
Using this website
The text, images, audio clips, logos and design on this site belong to Zankar or to the rights holders who licensed them to us. You may read, listen and share links. You may not copy, republish or use our content commercially without written permission.
Audio samples on this site are published with the permission of the relevant rights holders and are provided for listening only.
Where we link to external platforms such as Storytel, Audible, Spotify or YouTube, those sites have their own terms and we are not responsible for their content.
Engaging our services
Studio hire, production and publishing work is confirmed by a written quotation and, where applicable, an advance payment. Rates shown on this site are indicative starting points and exclude GST unless stated otherwise. Final pricing depends on the scope agreed in writing.
Bookings are confirmed only when we acknowledge them in writing. Studio time is reserved against your booking and cannot be resold at short notice, which is why the cancellation terms in our Refund, Cancellation and Delivery Policy apply.
Client material
You confirm that any manuscript, recording, artwork or other material you give us is yours to use, or that you hold the necessary rights. You remain responsible for the content of that material. We may decline any work that appears to infringe someone else's rights, or that is unlawful, defamatory or hateful.
Rights in the finished work
Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, you keep the copyright in your own work. We retain rights in our production elements, such as recordings we produce, editing, sound design and artwork we create. Distribution of a title to a platform is governed by the separate agreement covering that title.
Writing contests
Our contests are governed by the rules published on the relevant contest page, together with the entry form and any author agreement we provide to shortlisted participants. Where those rules conflict with these general terms, the contest rules apply to the contest.
Entry fees are non-refundable, including where an entry is disqualified for breaching the published rules. Prize amounts, the number of entries selected for publication, and the judging process are as described on the contest page. Our decisions on eligibility and judging are final.
Royalties for work selected for publication are governed by the author agreement provided before recording begins. No royalty is payable unless that agreement is signed.
Payments
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. We do not store your card or bank details. Prices exclude GST unless stated. Where tax must be deducted at source on prize money or royalties, we will deduct and remit it as the law requires, and you will need to provide a PAN.
Limits of our responsibility
We take reasonable care in everything we produce, but we do not guarantee that a title will earn a particular amount, reach a particular audience, be accepted by any distribution platform, or remain available on it.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time of your purchase applies to it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
